My weekend
Aug. 17th, 2009 08:53 amWhat I did this weekend:
1-Went to my parents' house for a crabfeast on Friday. My oldest sister was there from Park City and my brother was there on leave from Afghanistan. A good time was had by all.
2- Took my in-laws out to dinner for their 39th anniversary on Saturday. A good time was had by all, though G had a minor meltdown in the restaurant.
3-Bought a new TV for our bedroom to replace the 15 year old beast that would no longer allow any remote control to work on it. It's our first flat panel TV and I must admit, I'm pretty impressed.
4- Watched the Women's Gymnastics National Championships. Somewhat impressed by the new crop of gymnasts we have. Annoyed that they never have any Men's coverage.
5- Watched some of the EPL soccer opening days. Last year I rooted for New Castle (for no other reason than it's my favorite beer). But they've been relegated this year. I don't know who I'll root for this year. Maybe Everton? Tim Howard is their goalie.
6-Finally watched the last few episodes of the fourth season of Weeds on DVD. The best season yet! And I had been so skeptical of the show leaving Agrestic/Majestic. But it was a wonderful choice, made better by the fact that Kevin Nealon's Doug followed them. Also, the last two episodes of the fourth season, and we're just getting around to stating the obvious--That Andy is totally in love with Nancy?
What I didn't do this weekend that I should have done:
Finished reading Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. I love that book, but I was just too busy to read. I hate being at the same spot in a book on Monday morning that I was on Friday afternoon.
