Seriously, is there anything sweeter in this world than watching a three year old chase a butterfly?  It's not like me to get all sentimentally teary at the site of my kid doing something so fucking cute.  But there we were at park today and he saw a butterfly and chased it madly for a solid minute.  Giggling like I've never heard this kid giggle before.  Jesus, it was so cute I got weak in the knees.

This past Friday night, D and I went to see Ben Folds and Weezer at University of Maryland.  My mom so graciously watched G for the night.  It was our sixth time seeing Ben Folds and it was my least favorite of all his performances.  He totally sounded like he didn't warm up.  And he switched up his song order, meaning he didn't start with Zak and Sara, which he always starts with.  Instead, he chose the far more bland Annie Waits which didn't exactly get the crowd in to it.  Also, not nearly enough Ben Folds fans there to make a good horn section on Army.

But Weezer.  Oh my god.  I like Weezer, but I'm not retarded for them the way I am Ben Folds, so I wasn't really expecting much.  But Weezer fucking blew me away.  They are good good GOOD live.  If anyone gets a chance to see them, go for it.  It helped that we were surrounded by the biggest fucking Weezer fans ever. It always helps to be surrounded by fans.  Also the Harvard-grad lead singer used a trampoline!  A trampoline!  I haven't seen a lead singer use a trampoline in concert since I saw Trey Anastasio of Phish do it in 1996!  Even that I barely remember because I was on more drugs during that Phish show than I've ever been on at any other point in my life.   But that's a whole 'nother story.
