Watching my language
Aug. 10th, 2009 09:31 amG, who is two months away from being three years old, is quite a talker. He said his first word pretty late, (14.5 months), but then has been speaking in full sentences since not quite 18 months. He's a talking prodigy, or something. I don't know where he gets it, D and I are both quieter types. But not G, he talks all. day. long. Even his daycare teacher has commented on it. If he's not sleeping, he's talking.
And now he's starting to make up words. Some of which already exist. He was running around yesterday, trying to shut me and D into his room and here's what came out of his mouth.
"You guys are cunts!"
D and I looked at each other, eyes wide and mouths open. At this point, G had run to the other side of the condo. And I yelled out, "What did you say we are?"
And he shouts, "You're cunts!" And thank god our only English-speaking neighbor just moved.
So we run out to the living room, pick him up sit him on the couch and say in a very calm voice, "What word did you call mommy and daddy?"
And G starts to laugh. "You guys are coconuts!"
